Santa

The children got to meet Santa and one of his elves today! They sang a song for him and told him what they wanted for Christmas. It was very exciting!

Christmas reminders!

Just a little reminder to parents that the Christmas Fair is taking place this Sunday in the church from 11-6. Please come along and show your support. 
Also, our concert will take place Thursday 17th from 11.  Children will be allowed to go home early with their parents once the concert is over. 
If anyone has questions regarding costumes, please send me a note in their journals.

2D shapes


The children were learning all about 2D shapes this week. They made fantastic pictures and used tangrams to make pictures on their desks also.  Can you spot the rabbit and the swan?!  Well done boys and girls!

Welcome back!

Hi all, I hope everyone had a lovely mid term and are all set for the rest of the term! The children are learning about 2 D shapes this week in maths. Try bring your child this week for a shape walk to find lots of 2D shapes in our local environment!

Hurling blitz and bike day

We've had a busy few days getting in plenty of exercise. We had bike day on Tuesday and a hurling blitz in Pearse Stadium today. It was great fun!

School tour

Reminder: the school tour takes place this Friday 12th of June. It looks like the weather will be good so don't forget the sun cream and plenty of water!

The children made fantastic projects about European countries. They put in alot of work and they learnt a lot!

Seachtain na Gaeilge

To celebrate all things Irish, the children took part in a table quiz.  All questions were through Irish and the children did exceptionally well. They also were lucky enough to watch and listen to some traditional irish music in the hall. 

Write a book

Congratulations to all the children who participated in this years write a book competition. The children did excellent work and they really enjoyed the process. Thanks to all the parents who helped put at home with the typing!

Climate change

We are learning about climate change in class. Here we are doing group work discussing issues relating to climate change. The children are also making some wonderful posters. 

Maths

Last week we were learning about patterns in maths. We went on a maths walk to find patterns in our local environment. 
This week we are doing time in maths. Please help you child at home by asking questions about the clock and digital time. Any questions or queries please feel free to come into talk to me!

Welcome back!

Happy new year to all! We did great work last term and I'm sure this term will be no different! We are already busy learning about fractions and decimals in maths and studying the Vikings in history. Today we had a fire drill in school and the children did a great job of leaving the school quietly and calmly.
